Notice to Members-EFT payments

25 April, 2025

This year the annual European May Day holiday falls on Thursday May 1st and all banks including the European Central Bank which operates the banking settlement system across Europe, will be closed.  While it is a normal working day in Ireland on that day the European holiday means that electronic payments cannot be made to accounts in Ireland or across Europe. This means that anyone expecting a EURO payment to their account on this date may not receive the payment until Friday 2nd of May.

Please be advised that you need to allow additional time for payments to reach the beneficiary. Payments usually received on the 1st of the month should be submitted on Tuesday 29th of April to reach accounts on Wednesday 30th of April. Standard payment processing cycles will apply from Friday 2nd May.

St Colmcilles (Kells) Credit Union is regulated by the Central Bank of Ireland
