Hinterland Festival Thursday June 23rd-Sunday June 26th

There will be lots of excitement around the town from next week with the Hinterland festival set to hit the town.

Guests this year include the award-winning detective fiction writer Val McDermid, Joy Division/New Order percussionist Stephen Morris, actor and writer Evanna Lynch (Luna Lovegood in the Harry Potter series), RTÉ GAA commentator Marty Morrissey, Irish Times columnist Fintan O’Toole, first time novelists Declan O’Rourke (better known as one of our top singer-songwriters) and Catherine Prasifka (currently riding high in the best-seller lists), RTÉ newscaster Eileen Dunne (on her book on the GAA All Stars), the ever popular Michael Harding (reflecting on love and belonging), as well as musical performances from Michael Brunnock and Kíla.

The festival begins on Thursday 23 June running for three days with events taking place in venues such as the Church of Ireland, Eureka House, Kells Library, the Courthouse, Kells Theatre and Headfort House amongst others.

We hope all our members enjoy the festival which is finally back following a three year covid enforced hiatus.
