16 May, 2023Use of slurry after first cut silage
Brian McDonnell writing on [tag] Agriland has some great tips on how to maximise the use of slurry after first-cut silage:
👉After silage has been cut it is important to replace the nutrients taken off the crop. Spreading slurry is the easiest way to replace the phosphorus and potassium that has been removed👉To get the most benefit out of your slurry, it is important to get it tested to determine its nutrient value👉This will allow you to alter your nutrient management plan and fertiliser application accordingly
👉Depending on the results, this could lead to massive savings by reducing the amount of chemical fertiliser needed
